In
recent years, SiVad has been asked to manufacture and custom build frames
and auxiliary fixtures and tooling for major pieces of manufacturing equipment
and their support components. This business has grown so much over the
years we have included it as part of our charter of doing business.
The
Tooling, Fixtures, and Frames that we build are primarily designed to
make someone's life in production or maintenance much easier.
Tooling
is loosely defined as the manufacture of an item, component , or tool
that allows someone to perform the same task over and over again with a
high degree of repeatability and accuracy. Examples of tooling would be
special drills, cutters, drill templates, hole punches, and timers, among
others.
Fixtures
are defined as mechanical bases, base plates, or jigs that allow
operators to repeat ably position, hold, or check a part in an
expeditious manner. They are also used in conjunction with other
manufacturing operations by making the parts convenient to work and hold
on to while other processes are taking place (i.e. machining, drilling,
assembly, measurement, welding, etc.)
Frames
are basic mechanical structures that allow other items to be attached and
supported in space and in a particular orientation. The frames that we
are currently building are frames for the more popular compressors
associated with, and in use by, the Semi Conductor Industry. We build
frames to suit specific tasks or improve frames originally designed and
built by others.
We have
a specialty in the fabrication of heavy duty frames made from
Electropolished stainless steel. These frames are being used to meet the
latest standards for clean rooms and equipment chases by eliminating the
particles generated by the rusting of steel frames and the chipping of
paint created by day to day wear and tear in the FAB. Our frames are high
quality and of such close tolerance that we are qualified to make frames
for many of the inspection and optical equipment suppliers in the
Semiconductor Industry.
