In the
course of our manufacturing parts for high vacuum and ultra clean
service, we became familiar with and provide expertise related to the manufacture
and post finishing of parts and components to meet the demands of these
environments.
Our
expertise is based on research, training, and working in the industry
with the best providers of these services as both a customer and a
consultant. We can explain most of the processes in layman's terms down
to the molecular level and are available to help customers with any
special needs to create parts that will work and work consistently.
We have
expertise in the Teflon* Family of specialty technical coatings and do a
surprising amount of work providing testing and final manufacturing
services with these products. While most of the coatings we recommend and
apply are related to chemical resistance, there is a fair portion of the
business dedicated to supplying coatings that provide abrasion resistance
while also reducing wear. Some of the coatings we have worked with, but
are not limited to include, Haylar*, Kynar*, Teflon*, and PFA*.
During
our ten years of work in Silicon Valley we have not
found plating or painting to be a service where customers require our
expertise. While we are knowledgeable in these surface finishing
techniques, we have had only an occasional call to provide them to our
customers.

(Theory and Practice.) This was written to a friend in the
Electropolishing Industry to allow him to better understand the process
himself and to
explain it to his customers.
